Homemaking.....Star Date 27

FINE!....I'll make the damn candles-

Make Way For Fabulous!

Alright so today was a craft day. I woke up and watched Fantasia and ate pumpkin pie with my boys for breakfast. The boys LOVE Fantasia...they especially loved the cupids which they called "big butt babies with hearts". Then we cleaned the house took naps. While my boys napped I decided to come up with some fun things for us to do.

We do not have a lot of money for presents for everyone in the family and I wanted to do something cute that the boys could be proud of. So I have two possible crafts that I found. A Homemade snow globe and home made candles. The homemade snow globes I was going to pictures of the boys inside the jar with glitter and call it a day.

So the boys and I start to do the project and discover that the jars suck for the pictures and that the glitter is clumping around the pictures and I can't seem to get the major air bubble removed from the jar.....it makes me sad. But this is the type of thing the blog is about. Messing up and figuring out what to do next.

So I will show you the pictures of my failure craft

but I have to say that I am not sorry we did it. The boys were so excited and had so much fun. We will keep the failed ones around the house and tomorrow we will attempt to make candles as presents instead. So look out for that post.

Todays dinner was Chicken with carrots, onions five Chinese spice, soy sauce and dry sherry. It was pretty awesome. The recipe actually called for leeks but I do not have leeks so I looked up a substitute. A big part of being a cook is being creative. Just because you do not have all the ingredients does not mean that you nix making the dish it just means that we have to be grateful that we have the internet. I looked up substitutes for leeks and found out that it would be onions preferably green ones but I decided to just use the sweet ones I had in the house. I also did not have five Chinese spice but I did have the spices actually separate because I keep spices handy in the house. It was pretty awesome. I made Garlic noodles to go along with it. The dinner was very good. I did cut down on the amount of brown sugar because we are not sweet meat people. It was a good idea because with only table spoons of brown sugar the meat had a hint of sweet on them.

So I bet you wanna know about the picture I have up at the top well let me tell you. The key to staying motivated is high esteem...or a martini or five, which ever comes first.

So I have been thinking more about my idea of becoming the black Martha Stewart. The more I think about it the more I like the idea. But I have to know where to start I mean people like Oprah, Martha and Julia started some where. Julia started when she was 40 years old. I will never profess to be perfect but I will always profess to be fab :).

Live Long and stay Fabulous
